I'm excited to be studying botanical art because my favorite subject to paint is flowers. Botanical art is basically botanical illustration. Although, botanical art does not require the specifics of the flower in order to make it look hyper-realistic. In ancient Greece, botanical art was used to catalog plants that had economic and healing properties. 
Great post! You describe what botanical art is while providing examples as well. You also added a nice fun fact about how botanical art was used in Greece.
