Chuck Close is one of my favorite artists of all time, his use of color and the dynamic of each of his works are amazing. Close was born 1940 in Monroe, WA, 22 years later he attended the University of Washington School of Art in Seattle, WA. He's best known for his large scale hyper realistic paintings. After he became paralyzed he began taking his large portraits and turning them tinier and tinier, with grids he placed corresponding color so when you stand up and look at the piece from further away, its a realistic image. Some of his images look so real, you'd think that they are actually photographs although they are not.
